After the company divulged some fantastic sales and expansion numbers, Apple debuted the new iPad, that the media called the iPad 3 until the announcement. The statistics include one or two fascinating details, for example the fact that Apple had sold 315 million iOS devices by December 31, 2012. 62 million of those devices were sold in Q4 2011 alone. Ultimately the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad account for 76% of the company's revenue, and that would not really mean anything if Apple wasn't the most important company in the world. The entire situation illustrates the new, world-changing power of the mobile industry.
Now, 362 Apple retail stores will work in partnership to launch the new iPad, a product that outsold every PC manufacturer on its own last year.
The update to Apple’s successful tablet features a next-gen A5X dual-core processor outfitted with a quad-core GPU that is significantly more powerful than NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 chip. Also inside, you may find a 4G LTE radio if you do not mind adopting a wireless data plan for the subsequent year or two. A 10-hour battery keeps the boosted hardware running nicely.
Outside, a lovely, retina display emblazons the front of the machine. The upgraded display features such an intense pixel desnity that the human eye can't notice the individual pixels, which total 3.1 million. You might use the retina display to preview stills that you capture with the iPhone-4S-like 5MP shooter on the back. Naturally, you’ll find a webcam on the front side.
The new iPad starts shipping March 16, which is also the day they'll pop up in brick-and-mortar Apple stores internationally. Right now, you may also snag a Wi-Fi-only, 16GB iPad 2 for just $399. That’s a $100 price drop since the iPad 2 debuted last year. The original iPad, iPad 2, iPod Touch, and iPhone will also receive the new iOS 5.1 update immediately.
