social networking
In our last issue of Facebook for Business, we talked about making use of advertisements on Facebook to maximize your sales. In this issue we are going to talk about social media management for improved search engine rankings and traffic.
There are a number of affiliate marketers that claim that Facebook has turned out to be more effective than Google when it comes to pulling in traffic. Whether this is true or not, it’s not shocking to know that many other marketers are jumping in the bandwagon to try out Facebook marketing for themselves also because this way is a lot cheaper and less difficult to set up.
Here are some more tips on how to get traffic from search engines straight to your Facebook page:
Create A lot Of High quality One way links
There are actually a number of ways you can lead your potential clients and customers towards your page. This is one of the beauties of this social networking site. The more Likes that you have which totals to having more Fans, the more links lead back to your Page. This is also known as on-site optimization.
The offsite way is to build links using other websites such as your official website, article directory sites, other social networking sites, email signatures and stuff like that. Articles are a great way to build up links. On top of that, they can provide helpful information for your present and potential clients as well.
- Use A Professional Business Name
It’s okay to become a bit creative and fun with your updates. Still, this isn’t the case when it comes to your business name on Facebook. The key here is to make sure your business is searchable at Facebook. This improves keyword and key phrase optimization. Be sure that your business name doesn’t come with too much hype. In some cases, you might also need to distinguish yourself from another matching business name. If the business name is Jeremiah’s Fruit Shakes, for example, and there’s something that sounds quite very close to this, then make it Jeremiah’s Organic Alabama Fruit Shakes.
You should also do the same for URL’s. This is a fairly innovative addition to Facebook features supposedly placed to make the searching for your Fan page easier. Again, you don’t want your URL to sound flamboyant. Consider going for facebook.com/jeremiahfruitshakes. This is pretty direct.
- Your Profile Should Be Complete
Your landing page has an important role in gaining a great deal of Facebook fans. From here, customers will decide whether they want to read on and explore the other parts of your profile or not. So answer completely as much as possible. This is also your chance to use a bit of your creative side. It would be best if you come up with some eye-catching content.
Make sure you place keyword rich content in your squeeze page. Aside from using targeted keywords, you can also add in wide-ranging, general keywords that are typically used in your preferred niche. This is so Google can easily find your page. Try also to get positive customer feedbacks or testimonials. This is a great way to build your reputation within the industry.
With all the benefits of using Facebook as a business tool, still it’s not recommended that you use a Facebook Fan page as a substitute for an official website. At most, a Facebook page is just a great addition to any business website because it serves as a community among prospective customers and clients alike.

In our previous issue, we discussed about effectively communicating with your Facebook fans. In this issue, we are going to talk about using Facebook marketing to give something of worth to your clients and customers.
Here’s the fact: Over 50% of the whole Facebook community log in to their personal accounts each day. This suggests that with approximately 500 Million users of Facebook, over 250 Million are able to view your page.
Imagine being qualified to tap a portion of that market for your own product or service. That represents enormous amounts of dollars in return.
Even so, that doesn’t mean you can just come up with a Facebook account and expect it to make you rich overnight. Like an official web page, a Facebook account must be worked tirelessly on, adjusted, upgraded and evaluated.
It’s essential that you first determine whether your Facebook business page is presenting worthwhile results while keeping your reputation healthy.
Do you want to give a touch of corporate professionalism as an extension of your conventional office?
Do you want to add a touch of fun and excitement which will appeal to your target audience?
Or do you simply want your page to be a customer service area where informal questions and inquires can be attended to?
It’s important that you always regard value as your top priority whenever posting anything on your page. Avoid posting boring or unnecessary things. This means resisting the urge to post personal content or even things that seem fascinating but aren’t helpful to your audience.
Here are a few more suggestions you should contemplate:
- Get Testimonials from Customers
Looking at a person’s Facebook wall is one of the most well-known pastimes of men and women who are enthusiastic about social networks. At present, social media management provides various benefits to entrepreneurs. You can win over prospects by using testimonials from your current customers or clients. So why not ask your past clients for testimonials? Of course, you would most appreciate highly favorable feedback if given under your own accord. Yet, this may not always be the case based on the value of your products or services. So offer incentives, give out prizes or hold a contest. Say, for example, that every Facebook feedback will give them a 5% discount during their next purchase.
- Interact with Potential Customers
Whenever there are queries with regards to your products or services on Facebook, be sure that you get back to them straight away. Also, you’ll gain a good impression by answering the inquiries very timely. If you cannot do this, apologize for the late reply.
To save yourself from answering the same questions over and over again, you’ll want to provide something like a FAQ segment on your page. If all the information can’t be provided in the space available, then try using a Notes Page or a similar application.
- Upload Relevant Photos
Some use the Photos Page while some make pseudo-shops where they feature their products. Any of these is fine as long as the product images are shown in good quality. Working with low-end pictures will give your products a low end impression. So be meticulous in choosing those. For instance, if you have a jewelry business, you can promote it on Facebook by posting photos that feature the intricate designs of your jewelry pieces.
Keep these simple tips in mind when interacting with your friends and fans for a successful Facebook marketing venture.
